While painting
the infantry, I cleaned, based and undercoated all the mounted elements for the
two commands. After varnishing the infantry units last night, I began painting
just the coat, mane and tails of all 39 horses.
What you see
here is the result of over an hours work and I must say basing the figures
makes this task easier. The final step in painting the horses is to dry brush
their legs, muscle and hair, generally with a light beige colour. This picks
out the detailing quite well and highlights the harness and straps.
Tomorrow, I
will make a start on the uniforms and with a bit of luck, these should be done
by the weekend.
Cheers,
