After completing three game mats, the sea mat was by far the easiest, needing three steps. I used an old sea mat and painted a different shade of blue, somewhat as most of my naval actions will take place near a coast line.
One, as
with the others began with a coat of White.
Two, a Brilliant Blue with a bit of Black
was used for the first coat.
The project is paused for the moment and will be completed with step three.
Three,
lighten the Brilliant Blue with White, dilute, and apply this in a random pattern with
a sponge. Follow up with a moistened feathered sponge to soften the edges of
the paint. Test first your technique on white paper.
A list of
future terrain items will have shoals and sand banks.
