The guard and artillery are ready to be placed on painting sticks as detailing and shading will be easier when done this way. I am surprised how little time was spent with the first two batches. Each, comprising of 50 figures including a general officer, are now complete, varnished and based.
Texturing the bases will have to wait until the units receive their flags. This will most likely be the last step as imagining what an 18th century Dark Elf flag would look like is not an easy task. Their appearance should evolve into a design that left Warhammer ages ago and has not yet reached the 18th century.
Deciding on uniform colours took about a week; line, light and guard troops are distinct for the infantry as the cavalry. Sketches were made and painted in different combinations with those appearing similar to a known uniform were scrapped.
Completing the guard and artillery crew and pieces will leave only the cavalry to do. These will follow a similar colour scheme as foot troops of their type and should pose little problem to paint, even the horse colour has been decided.
