Cavalry

Confederate and Union cavalry are now ready for an undercoat.

With 16 riders per pack, I based a number of figures as 2LH, these representing either scouts, raiders or depleted units.

I am impressed with the figures as the majority are of unique poses, armed with pistols and carbine or shotgun.

Historically, cavalry numbers hovered around 8% which is low when compared with the Napoleonic Wars. Usually not employed as battlefield cavalry they did play a useful role seizing key features, reconnaissance and long range forays behind enemy lines.

As my focus is directed toward the Western campaigns their battlefield employment was usually hindered by the rough terrain.

Cheers,
